Yes, CBD products are legal. What’s more, all Serenna products are completely THC-free using only broad-spectrum hemp extract and are 100% legal.
Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants. It’s most widely known in two different varieties: hemp and marijuana. The distinction between the two is made based on the chemical differences between them. Marijuana contains both CBD (cannabidiol) and a psychoactive element known as THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). Hemp is full of beneficial CBD, however, it contains little to none of the non-psychoactive THC (less than 0.2% THC).
No, CBD will not get you high. It’s the THC in marijuana that makes people feel high and there isn’t any of that in Serenna CBD products.
Full-spectrum extracts contain the full range of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in hemp, including the potential for trace THC. Broad-spectrum extract retains all the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in full-spectrum, but removes the THC, making it fully legal and still full of all the natural chemistry of the hemp plant. CBD isolate is what is left after a full extraction process in which all plant matter other than CBD is removed. Isolate is 99.9% CBD and works best in topicals that use organic oils to enable take-up via the skin.
The entourage effect is where the combined effect of terpenes and cannabinoids interacting is greater than the sum of their individual effects. Each of the compounds in broad-spectrum CBD oil has a particular effect on the body and terpenes can also affect how the body responds to cannabinoids so when present together, the different profiles of the compounds alongside each other lead to different outcomes than with just CBD by itself. CBD isolate, for instance does not benefit from the entourage effect, whereas all broad-spectrum CBD oil products do.
If you’re on medication you should speak to your GP before introducing anything new to your body. Lots of things interact in different ways with each other and each of us has a unique physiology so it's always best to talk to your doctor first.
In short, it depends where you’re going and our advice in any situation is to do your research based on your own circumstances. The law on CBD differs from country to country so you need to check what customs say about your destination before you travel. When you’re flying check this super helpful website from Alternative Airlines for a breakdown of CBD laws by region - bear in mind it only works if you’re travelling in Europe or North America. And be sure to check any stopovers you might be having on the way as they will have different laws to consider too.
For those who cannot avoid flying, it’s worth considering not only the law but people’s awareness of it too. CBD is legal in the UK but not everyone is as informed as you may hope, including staff on UK domestic flights so our advice would be to check in advance with your airline and take a CBD batch test report with you to prove the legality of your Serenna products.
Yes. Serenna is a member of the CTA (Cannabis Trade Association).
The Serenna website is the best way to place an order as it is linked in to our systems, a lot of which are automated, making it a lot quicker and easier to receive your purchases.
We would love to use PayPal but for now PayPal policies mean that no CBD businesses in the UK can access the platform as a method of payment. Instead we use Paytriot via Shopify, which works incredibly well.
Yes! We make sure that all Serenna products are made without using any animal byproducts.
We use a lab in the UK, just outside London to create all our CBD Oil products and our skincare range is produced in Cambridgeshire. Our hemp is sourced from further afield, which comes from Colorado, America. Once blended to our unique formulations for full effect, the products are delivered to our office and store in Cornwall. All of your purchases are then shipped from Serenna HQ by one of the family.
We check for levels of all the good stuff like cannabinoids, flavinoids and terpenes so that we can trust that our products have what we say they have in them. We work together with our manufacturer to make sure each one of our products meets the CTA requirements for CBD levels. We also test for things like heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, bacteria and mycotoxins to make sure our products are safe. We test every batch, just see our lab test results page for more info.
Quite a lot of people new to CBD expect it to have a transformative effect and pay a lot of attention to what they are feeling in the moments after taking it, or worry that taking CBD might make them feel ‘out of it’. As we have told friends and family new to CBD, it’s important to pay attention to what you’re not feeling too. Results are individualised, we’re all different but to see what’s working for you in your self-care routine, be mindful of how well you are sleeping, how manageable your difficult times each month are and how centred and grounded you feel in the day. There’s no magic switch that gets flicked on and there’s nothing psychoactive in any of our products. Instead they are purposefully designed to harness natural ingredients that support you to be good to yourself in your self-care and skincare routines. We hope you enjoy the impact they can have on your life as much as they have had on ours.
CBD does not have an expiration date but the oil and the other ingredients in our skincare products can degrade and should be used within a certain period of time (see box or label for details). Try to store your products in a cool place and avoid leaving them in direct sunlight as CBD is photosensitive, that’s why we put it in brown glass. It’s also important to make sure you do up any lids in order to maintain an airtight seal. Each product also comes with an individual expiration date so check that out for more information.
Serenna products are not medicine - they’re designed to support your overall health and wellness as a food supplement or skincare product and they contain important vitamins and minerals. CBD supports the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis and can be used by anyone at anytime.
Stop using the product immediately. Where possible, please take a picture of your reaction and contact our Customer Service Team and we will of course refund or exchange for the total value of the product.
